The firm
Advocates who answer the phone.
Jasmeet Mayodi & Co. Advocates is a Nairobi practice built around two things clients say they rarely get: a straight assessment of their position, and someone who picks up when they call.
The firm advises businesses, families and individuals from its office at Kenbanco House, 2nd Floor, Office No. 4, in Nairobi. Most of the work is the ordinary business of a commercial and civil practice — money owed and not paid, contracts drawn and contracts disputed, land bought and sold, employment ended well or badly, estates administered — with representation in court where a matter cannot be resolved any other way.
How a matter starts
With a conversation, not a retainer. Call either line or send a message describing what happened. If there is a matter, you will be told what it involves and what it costs before a file is opened. If there is not, you will be told that too — it is cheaper for everyone than discovering it three months in.
How fees are set
The basis of charging is agreed in writing at the start, in line with the Advocates Remuneration Order. You will know whether you are being charged on a scale, an hourly basis or a fixed fee, and what disbursements — court filing fees, search fees, stamp duty — sit on top.
Confidentiality
Nothing about a client's matter is discussed outside the firm or published anywhere, including on this website. There are no case studies here and no client names, and there will not be.

- Consultation before commitment
- Fees agreed in writing
- Direct line to the advocate on your file
- Matters run to a diary, not to a reminder

Standards
What you can hold us to
The position, not the pitch
You are told what your matter is worth pursuing and what it is not, before you commit to fees.
Costs agreed in writing
The basis of charging is set out at the start, in line with the Advocates Remuneration Order.
Reachable
Two lines, WhatsApp and email — answered by the office, not a call centre.
Confidential by default
What is discussed in the office stays there. Nothing about a client's matter is published anywhere.
Working with us
From first call to closed file
- 01
You tell us what happened
A first conversation, by phone, WhatsApp or in the office. No file is opened and no fee is charged to find out whether you have a matter at all.
- 02
We give you the position in plain terms
What the law says, what it will realistically take, what it will cost, and where the weak points are. Including when the honest answer is that court is the wrong route.
- 03
We act
Demand, filing, negotiation or defence — with the deadlines diarised and the next step named before you leave.
- 04
You are kept informed
You hear from us when something moves, and you can reach the advocate on your file without going through three people.
